The collection contains one poem/song by an unknown author concerning the day of judgement and what will happen to the different types of people on earth.

"I Have Found a Hiding Place" sheet music , after 1900 , 0.05 linear feet (1 page of sheet music)
One page of handwritten sheet music written on heavy paper or card stock with music and lyrics. The song appears to be religious and the creator is unknown. The bottom right hand corner of the page is missing.

I. Efron Tourist Brochure on Aiken, South Carolina , 1920 , 0.1 linear feet
This bifold brochure promotes I. Efron Packard Renting and Taxi Service, and provides information on the attractions of Aikin, South Carolina, with pertinent phone numbers, church service times, and a railroad schedule for Southern Railway.

W.K. Ichimmel Letter , 1889 July 24 , 1 letter, 5 pages
Letter from W.K. Ichimmel from South Bend, Indiana, to his unnamed friend. The letter discusses his upcoming trip to Paris and the workers at the shirt factory where he works.

Letter from Ida to S. L. Swenson , 1930 September 29 , 1 letter
One letter from Ida, in Janesville, Wisconsin, to S. L. Swenson in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Ida was in Janesville for medical reasons.

A letter from Ida to her child about the Fourth of July celebrations.

Letter from Ida to Mary , 1888 October 2 , 0.05 linear feet
Letter from Ida to her sister, Mary. written on 2 October 1888 from River View, Ohio, telling her sister about the weather, gathering nuts, and a trip to Gallipolis, Ohio, Ida and their mother took to buy dresses.

Miscellaneous Illinois Cuttings , 1895-1910 , 0.1 linear feet
This is a ledger pasted full of cuttings, mostly from Illinois newspapers between 1895 and 1897, on various topics. Predominant themes include Christianity/agnosticism, football, and theatre, with some items on politics, including political cartoons, and women's rights.

"In the Baggage Coach Ahead", circa 1890, 1 poem, 3 pages
The collection contains a handwritten poem by an unknown author. The poem is about a man riding a train with his infant child. His wife has passed away and is "in the baggage coach ahead."

Inge Family papers, 1833 - 1968, 4 items
A copy of the will of Richard Inge, Sr., 1883; a copy of a letter from W.S. Wyman to a Mr. Inge, 1906, regarding Inge family genealogy; and correspondence between the University of Alabama library and Mrs. Z. M. P. Inge regarding the family's papers.

A letter dated February 1, 1864, written from Elizabeth Herndon Inge's home near Forkland, Greene County, Alabama to her sister, A. Tremlet Herndon, in Mobile, asking her to purchase cloth, discussing the paucity of salt, and giving news of family and friends.

Research material for the book, "The Herndon and Inge Families: Genealogical, Historical, Biographical."

Two letters written by Samuel Williams Inge during his term in the United States House of Representatives requesting services to constituents and self.

Prentiss Ingraham and Joseph H. Ingraham scrapbook , 1839-1950 , 25 items
Material relating to "dime novelist" Prentiss Ingraham and his father, Joseph Holt Ingraham, kept by Prentiss's daughter, Rosa. Included are clippings, letters, poetry, photographs and other items, and a a list of books by Ingraham held by the W. S. Hoole Library.

Internal Revenue Service Collector's Office, Second District, Alabama, letters, 1871-1873, 32 items
Letters from Francis Widmer to James E. Tuck, both of them Internal Revenue Service employees, concerning their work; one letter to Widmer from J.W. Douglas of the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C.; and one letter to Tuck from the Acting Revenue Collector of the 2nd Division, Alabama.

E. Irby letter, 1821 August 16, 1 item, 2 pages
A letter dated 16 August 1821, from Huntsville, Alabama to Haynie Hatchett, McFarland store, Lunenburg County, Virginia, concerning his recollection of a debt owed to Hatchett, news of family, friends and business. It notes the burning of the newly built theatre in town, the construction of a canal, and the state of local crops.

Letter from Isabel to Minnie , 1915 April 29 , 0.05 linear feet
One letter from Isabel to her sister Minnie in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. She discussed her new job at the post office and life at her boarding house.

Italian Agricultural Community, Lambert, Alabama collection, 1907-1983, 3 items
Biographical sketches of the Italian settlers of Lambert, Mobile County, Alabama, a photocopy of Sadie Hattenstein's obituary, and a compilation of information on Italians in Alabama from 1890 to 1920.
