At the Information Center on the first floor, Gorgas Information Services (GIS) librarians and staff offer assistance with ready reference questions and basic research, guidance with library assignments, and help in accessing the Internet.

REFERENCE LIBRARIAN HOURS

A reference librarian is available to assist you during the following times. Please ask at the first-floor Information Desk for assistance or call 348-6047:
Sunday: 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Information Desk is staffed by graduate students in the School of Library and Information Science during these times:
Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Monday-Thursday: 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday-Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

GORGAS LIBRARY SUBJECTS & SUBJECT SPECIALISTS

A reference librarian is assigned to each discipline. The goal of this system is to provide our users with an expert in library resources in each field we cover, both for reference assistance and library instruction. To see a list of  librarians and their subject areas click here [6].
