Biography:

Economist; University professor. Born– May 5, 1941, Robertsdale. Parents– Louis W. and Helen (Hadley) Boone. Married– Pat Jones, May 8, 1964. . Children– Two. Education– Delta State College, B.S., 1963, University of Southern Mississippi, M.S., 1964; University of Arkansas, Ph.D., 1968. Instructor at Auburn University, 1964-1965; University of Arkansas, 1965-1967; University of Southern Mississippi, 1967-1969; professor of marketing and chairman of the Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Tulsa, 1969-79; at the University of Central Florida, 1979-83; at the University of South Alabama, 1983-1994. Published many articles in professional journals and contributed to many anthologies. Member Ozark, Southwestern, Southern, and American Marketing Associations.  Awarded the European Book Prize, 1975; the Southwestern Marketing Association Founders Award; William Holmes McGuffey Award, 1994. His Contemporary Marketing was named the outstanding college textbook since 1950 by the Academic Authors Association. Died January 7, 2005.
