Education– Duke University, B.A., 1961; Yale University, M.F.A., 1964. Taught at Vassar College, 1964-1965; Hollins College, 1965-1982; University of New Orleans, 1982-. Contributed articles and plays to film and literary journals.  General editor of Monarch Film Series for Simon & Schuster.  Founder, editor, and publisher of Film Journal (1971-76) and Scripts South.
