Education:  Huntingdon College, B.A., 1954; Harvard Business School, M.B.A., 1956. Joined the Alabama National Guard at age seventeen; served in U.S.Army in Korea, 1950-53.  Account representative, Sterne, Agee, and Leach, Montgomery, 1956-57:  administrator for the State of Alabama;  1957-1960:  Thornton, Farish and Gauntt, Montgomery,1961-75; CEO, Frazier Lanier Co.;  1976-1996,  Chairman and CEO of the Enstar Group, 1990-2007.    Honors:  Doctor of Humane Letters, Huntingdon College, 2000; CEO emeritus, Enstar, 2007.
