Education– Judson College, A.B., 1916; University of Alabama, M.A., 1917; Columbia University, M.A. Taught in Alabama high schools until 1924; Huntingdon College, 1924-1972; University of Alabama, Montgomery Center, 1937-1942. Member of the South Atlantic Modern Language Association, American Folklore Society, and Southeastern Folklore Society. Died December 11, 1984.
